I recently read an article that I thought was interesting on Integrative Medicine. I thought I’d share a few of the they points over the next few blogs posts.
Many people believe that Integrative Medicine is the future of medicine. As the costs of traditional medicine continue to increase, sometimes patients feel dissatisfied with the outcomes they receive. Alternatively, integrative medicine may provide a solution. Integrative medicine favors evidence-based use of low-tech, low-cost interventions. It’s goal is to care for the “whole-person”. As the mindfulness movement progresses many people are drawn by this perspective. Integrative medicine strives to join patients and healthcare providers in partnership. Patients assume a more active role in their health care and changing health needs.
Does the integrative medical model sound like something you might be interested in?
